Crypto mining software FAQ
What is HydraX?
HydraX is free crypto mining software for NVIDIA GPUs and CPUs. It mines several coins on Windows and Linux, supports dual GPU + CPU mining on one app, and comes with a farm Operator dashboard and free mining profit calculators.
What coins can I mine with HydraX?
On the GPU: Pearl (PRL, pearlhash), Kaspa (KAS, kHeavyHash), Quai (QUAI, quaikawpow), Ravencoin (RVN) and other KawPow coins, Neurai (XNA) and Frencoin (FREN), plus Ethereum Classic (ETC, Etchash). On the CPU: Monero (XMR, RandomX), Zephyr (ZEPH, RandomX), Xelis (XEL, xelishashv3), and GhostRider coins Yerbas (YERB) and Raptoreum (RTM). One miner, multiple algorithms.
Can I mine two coins at the same time?
Yes. HydraX does dual mining on a single app, a GPU coin (Ethereum Classic or a KawPow coin) and Monero on your CPU at the same time, so you earn more from hardware you already own.
Is HydraX free?
Yes, it's completely free to download and use. It includes a small 1% dev fee (about 36 seconds per hour) that keeps the mining software free and maintained.
What hardware do I need to mine?
An NVIDIA GPU (RTX 30, 40, or 50 series with roughly 6 GB+ VRAM) on 64-bit Windows or Linux. Monero/RandomX runs on your CPU. AMD GPU support is in progress.
Does HydraX run on Linux?
Yes, HydraX ships a native 64-bit Linux build alongside Windows, and as of v3.3.1 a dedicated HiveOS (CUDA 12) build too. Same coins, same dual GPU+CPU mining, same flat 1% dev fee. Grab the Linux .tar.gz or the HiveOS build from the releases page, extract it, and run the included shell scripts.
How do I start mining crypto with HydraX?
Download HydraX, open the .bat file for the coin you want, paste in your wallet address, and run it, no config files needed. Point it at a reliable pool such as 2Miners (see the Pools section above).
Does HydraX mine Pearl (PRL)?
Yes, as of v3.3.0 HydraX mines Pearl (PRL) on the pearlhash algorithm. Pearl is a proof-of-useful-work, AI-compute coin mined on NVIDIA GPUs (RTX 30/40/50-series). HydraX runs Pearl with cleanroom kernels (our own code, not a fork) on Windows and Linux, at the same flat 1% dev fee as every other coin, with no "flagship tax" for mining the new chain.
Can I merge-mine Pearl (PRL) and modelOS (MDL) at the same time?
Yes. As of v3.4.5 HydraX merge-mines modelOS (MDL) on top of Pearl (PRL): the exact same pearlhash share is graded against both chains, so you earn PRL and MDL at once from one GPU, one address, and the same power draw. Point HydraX at us3.pearl.herominers.com:1200 and set your wallet to YOUR_PRL_ADDRESS+YOUR_MDL_ADDRESS (put solo: in front of the Pearl address to solo-mine). Ready-made one-line launchers ship in the download, including three-way bats that add Monero or Zephyr on your CPU. Get an MDL address at compute.modeloslab.xyz and track earnings at modelos.herominers.com.
Does HydraX mine Xelis (XEL)?
Yes, as of v3.3.0 HydraX mines Xelis (XEL) on the xelishashv3 algorithm. Xelis is a CPU-mined, memory-hard coin (an alternative to Monero/RandomX), and it runs on the same dual GPU+CPU setup at a 1% dev fee.
Does HydraX mine Kaspa (KAS)?
Yes, as of v3.3.0 HydraX mines Kaspa (KAS) on the kHeavyHash algorithm, a fast, very power-efficient GPU coin (~1–3 GH/s on NVIDIA cards). Same cleanroom code and flat 1% dev fee, on Windows and Linux.
Does HydraX mine Quai (QUAI)?
Yes, as of v3.3.0 HydraX mines Quai (QUAI) on the quaikawpow (ProgPoW) algorithm on NVIDIA GPUs, at the same flat 1% dev fee on Windows and Linux.
Does HydraX mine Zephyr (ZEPH)?
Yes, as of v3.3.3 HydraX mines Zephyr (ZEPH) on RandomX, the same algorithm as Monero. Zephyr is a CPU-mined coin, so it runs alongside a GPU coin in the same dual GPU+CPU setup, at the same flat 1% dev fee on Windows, Linux and HiveOS. The default pool is Kryptex; 2Miners and HeroMiners also work.
Is HydraX Miner safe? Is it a virus?
HydraX is code-signed by verified publisher HYDRAX LLC (Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing), and Microsoft Defender (real-time and PUA protection on, current signatures) scans the signed build clean. You can verify it yourself: right-click miner.exe → Properties → Digital Signatures, or run signtool verify /pa miner.exe. Some third-party antivirus engines on VirusTotal flag any mining software with a generic "RiskTool" or "CoinMiner" category label, which flags the behavior (it mines crypto), not malware, and every GPU miner, including closed-source ones, gets the same. The code signature proves the download is genuinely from HYDRAX LLC and has not been tampered with.
